How to choose IP66 and IP67 protection grade electrical enclosures in practical applications?
IP66 (anti-high-pressure water washing): suitable for scenes that require frequent high-pressure cleaning (such as food processing workshops, chemical equipment), can withstand water jets from 12.5mm nozzles from any direction (pressure ≥100bar), but long-term immersion is not recommended. Typical case: food mixer control box, no water enters the shell during rinsing.
IP67 (short-term immersion protection): can be immersed in 1 meter deep water for 30 minutes without water ingress, suitable for temporary wading environments (such as outdoor temporary distribution boxes, ship deck equipment), but long-term underwater applications need to be upgraded to IP68. Note: The compression rate of the sealing ring of the IP67 housing needs to be controlled at 25%-30% to avoid a decrease in sealing after aging.
